The Green movement has reached the flooring industry and more and more builders and homeowners are choosing these options. In addition to the eco-friendly flooring choices of bamboo and cork, Artwood's hardwood flooring suppliers are doing their part for the environment. Choosing flooring manufacturers that use only formaldehyde-free waterborne stains, sealers and top coats that are 99 per cent VOC free without any volatile solvents, pigments and dyes used for the stains are also totally free of heavy metals.
Artwood Flooring also offers hardwoods that comply with FSC certification. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. Not only are our maple and red oak hardwood flooring offered with FSC certification, we also have an extensive choice of solid exotic hardwoods that are FSC certified. Additionally, 70 per cent of the domestic wood used for flooring manufacturing comes within a 200 mile radius, and 90 per cent within a 500 mile radius, helping to keep its carbon foot print a small one. |
